A Snail goes faster than my computer

I am not sure what to do. A few weeks ago, my daughter downloaded the Flash
9 Player from Myspace.com. Since this download, the entire computer is slow.
It takes forever opening any applications and I find I would rather shoot
myself in the foot than go on the Internet.

I have removed any programs we don't use.
I have uninstalled Flash Player 9 and still had issue (I have since
reinstalled Flash)
I have scanned my computer for virus' (nothing found)
I have purchased Spyware Doctor which removed some malware and spyware
I have defraged my computer
I have removed some programs from Start up that are not needed

Nothing has helped. Even typing this, the text is delayed and painful to
write. I am tempted to reload my OS just to see if that will help.

I haven't tried a system restore yet. Which I am about to do now. But I am
hoping perhaps some Tech God out there has some other ideas?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth,

Try this,

Right click on your "My Computer" icon on your desktop and go to
"Properties".

If the "My Computer" Icon is not on your desktop, click on Start, go to the
"My Computer" icon in the menu and right click on it.

Then go to Advanced - and in the Performance section, click on "Settings" -
then click on the "Advanced" tab, and look at the number at the bottom where
it says "Virtual memory".

If it says "0", click on the "Change" button. If it doesn't say "0", click
on "Change" and continue with the following instructions anyway.

Make sure the C drive is highlighted and tick the little circle next to
"System managed size", then click "set". You should be told that the
computer needs to be restarted. If not, that is ok.

Click on "Ok" to exit out of the "Properties" windows and restart your
computer. Hopefully this will fix your problem.

I hope this helps.

Good luck
