I received email from the SpyBot Team at Safer Networking that indicated to me...

"You have the permission to publish the following statement in any newsgroup or
forum:"


"The domain holder of http://www.pcbutts1.com is not a legal
(re-)distributor of the anti-spyware software Spybot - Search & Destroy
and he/she has no right to offer downloads of that software from
his/her website.
Safer Networking Ltd. explicitly dissociates from that person, his/her
comments and language, his/her website and his/her offers for
downloading its program from his/her site.

The original Spybot - Search & Destroy shall be downloaded from
http://www.safer-networking.org or from one of our official partners'
websites only.

I believe you. I sent and e-mail to Lavasoft and got almost the same answer
from them. Posting it would do no good as butthead will not listen. He has a
fixed idea in his head that he is right and has done no wrong.

NEVER download files from anywhere unless it is from the website of the
developer, manufacturer or some entity that you trust. They ALWAYS have the
most up to date files that haven't been tampered with by some third party
who is "hosting" (read Leeching) those files without permission.

He is annoying, rude, and very very good at getting a response out of
huge numbers of people who should know better, in fact I quite admire
the way he winds up very experienced usenet jockeys seemingly at will.

Butts differs from a Toll in that he offers possibly malicious files to
unsuspecting newsgroup visitors, violates vendors hosting requirements,
actually violates his ISP's AUP, and several other things.

A troll goes away of you leave them alone, Butts would be abusing
vendors and pushing out unconfirmed files to unsuspecting group visitors
without our attention.

A troll only seeks attention - the only attention Butts wants is
visitors to his sites to increase his traffic volume so that he gets
more money from advertisers.

Thank you for that update. That proves that Cedrick Collomb has been paying attention to
this situation. After I posted his confirmation email to his original post, he must have
seen BUTT's lie about it being forged. Here's definitive proof that it was NOT forged, that
it came directly from Cedrick.

Bang by bang -- nail by nail, the lid is closed on his cauffin !

The funny thing (or sad thing depending on your POV) is BUTT's own hand is holding the
hammer !

I ve been follwing this and other lists for a while now.
As a member of two security forums, I do not agree with pcbutts
procedure of dealing with peoples pc problems and the way he ignores
certain rules. I had sent an email to Merjin and have received the
following response:
