A large place holder instead of a log on form appears in my IE 6?

Hans Le Roy

Hi Dmitry,

A log is a list of records of (for instance) access to a website. I'm
prettiy sure you mean something like login screen or chat screen.

That screen is a Java applet, so Java must be installed. First, make sure
Java is enabled in IE, Tools, Options, Advanced. Still no luck? Your Java
Virtual Machine might be damaged. Go to http://java.sun.com to download
and install it again.

Kind regards

Hans

Hi Dmitry :)

To enable Java, take these steps:
Internet Explorer User:
From the Menu bar, select Tools.
Select Internet Options.
Select Security.
Internet.
Click Custom Level.
Scroll down the Security Settings box to Microsoft VM, then Java Permission,
select Medium Safety. Click OK.
A prompt box will now appear asking "Warning... Are you sure you want to
change the security settings for this zone? Yes/No." Click Yes.
Click OK.

Also, if you have McAfee, try the following:

Disable the McAfee ActiveX controls Applet filters in the Internet Filter
window when you select Customize your VShield settings.

Disable any 3rd party toolbars such as Google, Yahoo or MSN, or opoup or add
blockers. If you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it, it is know to cause
various problems.

I installed Java software from http://java.sun.com , and the java applet

My work IE6 has Russian interface unfortunately. How to install an English

Now, the Security Settings box does not have the Microsoft VM, but
"Scenarios", which contains "Fulfill Java applications scenarios", which is
set to "Allow" in translation from Russian.
Where is the "Customize your VShield settings" in the McAfee?
I do not have any 3rd party toolbars such as Google, Yahoo or MSN, add
blockers and Yahoo Companion.
