A few spare parts lying around....

As recently posted, I finished building a new PC which included, among
other parts:

ASUS A8N-E Motherboard
AMD Athlon 3500+ CPU
Ultra 500 Watt ATX Model ULT-500P power supply
2 Seagate 160 Gig SATA2 Hard drives
Cooler Master PowerSpec case

I finally had a chance to clean up, and found a few parts that I think
-- but I'm not sure -- came either with the motherboard or case.
1. Three black rubber-band type things, about 2 inches in diameter.
2. A thicker, solid metal ring, about an inch in diameter, where the
material of the ring itself is maybe 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch in
diameter.
3. A piece of square plastic, about one inch on each side, with a
flat top and a thin base shaped like an X -- the total thickness (top
and base) is about 1/4 inch. The flat top has a piece of shiny paper
which can clearly be peeled off, and there is some sticky stuff
underneath.

I can't find anything in any of the manuals about what these might be
used for. Anyone have any idea if any of these things are supposed to
be somewhere inside the case of my computer? I'm guessing maybe the
rubber bands are meant to organize and tidy up the tangle of cables
inside the case. The other two things -- the solid round ring and the
flat square piece of plastic -- I have no idea. Clues? Hints?

Okay... everything seems to be working okay without that stuff in
there. True, it's kind of a mess of cables, but I made sure
everything was out of the way of the fans. Is there any reason to go
back in and bind up the cables? That "ferrite ring" sounds like it
could be important, but again, everything seems to be okay as is. Is
there some important reason to put the ferrite ring in, and if so,
where/how?

Thanks again.

that ring is probably for the leads that go from mobo to the front of
the case: leds, switches etc.
Bundle the leads together and loop the bundle through the ring a few
times. See to it that it cannot make contact with anything on the
Mobo.
