I recently was able to reformat and reinstall XP with the help of all of you..
I still have a few troubles that I am hoping you can answer..
Windows hangs at shutdown..it says saving settings..you hear it click off,
but the main tower does not turn off...I looked in device man for something
called APM?NT legacy that one site suggested I do..nothing like that in my
device man..also looked in power options..I don't have Anv. Power Man.
Support avail...so, what are some other things I could look at..
also.while looking at device manager, discovered some things..not sure what
to do about them.
Intel DBM SMBUS Controller 24c3 has a red X.(code 24)..it says drive is
disabled..there are 3 other INTEL things that are OK...and under other
devices there is a USB Contoller with a Yellow ?....and there is a RED X on
something called the MPFP...when i look further it says..ROOT\Legacy mpfp\0000
I know some of these could be potential problems, but I don't know what to
do with them...any help would be greatly appreciated..I really would like to
finish this crash repair with all of you, rather than paying someone to do it
for me..it seems like I am so close...THANKS!
