98 upgrade

tried to install 2000 pro over 98. went thru all the
motions, and then said "it could not read c: drive" and
the exited the install.. c drive has plenty of space and
is FAT32.. Any suggestions??? I tried the install from
within Win98.. should i try it with the disks or boot the
2000 cd??

Did you happen to have a third party boot manager installed like EZBios? Or
maybe partitioned the drive with Partition Magic? If so that can cause a
nonstandard MBR. Also, try running chkdsk on the machine.
