9700 Pro Corruption Advice !

Mark Buckley

I'm about to RMA this card - but wondered whether people could guess what is
wrong with it ? I get this corruption in 3dMark2001 - funnily enough if I
sent AA to 6x I don't get it any where near as often as AA set to 2x or 4x !
Bizarre or what ! Its a Gigabyte 9700 Pro - PSU should not be a problem as
its an Antec 430W. Sometimes I also get corruption even in Bios (ASCI
characters everywhere) - which is removed by reseating the graphics card
many times !

Any ideas - please see corruption photo !

Thanks for the suggestion Monico - changing the AGP voltage seems to have no
real effect on the artefacts :(

Ventilation in the case is fine I think - its an Antec AMG 1080 case - 1
inlet fan at front - 2 at rear - and a fan on the side panel. CPU is only
at 48 under load - and max case temp is 30C.

Try raising video voltage from 1.5 (default) to 1.6 in the bios and check
ventilation of your computer case.
