911/WIndows firewall cannot start

Hi all,
After my son installed some shareware on my desktop, there is some wierd
problem with the windows Firewall.
Everytime I restart my machine, my WinXP SP2 automatically shutdown my
WIndows Firewall. And even I manually go to control panel and tried to
restart the FW, it reports that "Due to an unidentified problem, Windows
cannot display Firewall settings"
I suspect my PC was infected by virus and malware, virus scan result is
fine, but I detected some trojan horse, and did try to remove them with
a-squared software.

However, the FW still presist....is there anyway to fix my problem? I do
not want to reinstall my computer, as there are so many data on it and
software installed, some of which I couldn't even find the installation disc
anymore.

Please help!!
