8500 connected to tv

Hi all
I am trying to connect my radeon 8500 to my Tv with the S Video socket.
All is well except the Screen is black and white.
Have checked the setting and the only thing I notice is that the TV settings
list the TV as NTSC not PAL
is this why the tv is black and white or is there something I am missing.

Change the TV format to PAL and you will know.
Displays -> TV -> Format -> Select by country/region.
Then select your country.

Tried to get to the properties but all it gives me is colour and contrast
controls nothing to change the tv region

You have to select the Displays tab, not the Color tab. Then click on
the TV 'label' next to the green button. Then select the Format tab.

It could be you have NTSC version of 8500, not PAL version. You would need
to flash new firmware to your 8500 to fix.
