80 pin IDE cable for optical drives?

Any advantage / disadvantage with using a 40pin/80wire IDE cable over a 40/40 IDE cable (ie with the extra 40 wire shielding)? My question is regarding two optical drives on the secondary IDE channel (DVDrom and CDRW).

Yes, I do use and 40/80 with the two hdd's as per manufacturers specs.

I use 80 wire cables on all the drives in both my PC and my husband's PC
(both of which I built). No problems. I have 3 hard drives and a single
DVD burner. He has a single drive, 2 DVD Rom drives (set for different
regions) and one CD burner.
