This is a Quicktime application that runs on start up, it
loads the quicktime quick start icon in the system tray
and generally it is not needed. In your case it probably
isnt loading anyway. Search harddrive for file qttasks.exe
and rename to qttask.exe.old. I did this and it stopped
loading, I assume it will solve your problem as well. It
does not stop you being abe to run Quick time when you
need it just by starting the program manually or setting
up appropriate file associations.

How do I rid start up message titled "658: qttask.exe
message" In dialogue box it says "There is no disk in
drive Please insert disk into drive \Device \ Harddisk 1\
DR 3" I then have options Cancel Try Again and Continue. I
simply click cancel about 8 times and then it goes away
until I once again boot up.
