553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts

I frequently get the error message when sending email:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
rcpthosts

There are NO references to this erronumber or rcpthosts
when I search this website. Surely I am not the only one
out there with this problem? Help!

I've found if you have an Exchange 2003 account in cached mode and POP3
accounts configured then after a while it will give 553 errors when you try
and send email, but it only seems to affect certain emails, though this
appears random as to which ones get through.

Even with it set to only send via Exchange this still occurs, and the only
way I've found round it is to remove the POP3 accounts, which rectifies the
problem immedately. For my users I get them to forward their POP3 mailboxes
if they have one the need to access to the Excange server so it all runs
through the exchange connection.

If someone has a way around this I'd be very interested!
