404 Error

I re-published my website two days ago. (www.developserenity.com)
According to the web statistics provided by my web host there are already
over 170 404 errors.

I am baffled. I went through each page at least twice and checked every
link. Some friends did the same. We did not find a single broken link. The
reports view in FP 2003 does not list any broken link either.

Where do these 404 errors come from??

The previous version of my website produced these errors too.

I am thankful for any hints on how to fix this.

Do you have a favicon? If not, a 404 error will be generated every time
the browser looks for one. Ask your host (or look at the web statistics,
if you have that feature) for a list of files that are generating errors.

Ronx is correct. Your web is looking for images/favicon.ico and it doesn't
exist, so it will 404.

Hi Ronx & Rob,

Thanks for your response!

I do have a favicon and when I view my website live on my computer, the
favicon shows up.
However, I have just checked my site on my husband's computer and it does
not show up!

I also checked my web stats to see which pages cause the 404 error and I am
surprised to see files listed that don't even exist in my website!
The most 404 errors are caused by a "/robots.txt." I have no idea what this
file is and how to get it fixed so that is does not cause any errors.

Any tips?
Monika
