3Com Wireless adapter not active

Hi

I have just installed Beta2 from my Action pack subscription on a Sony Vaio
laptop. I am using a 3Com Office connect PC Card 3CRWE154G72 which was
correctly identified and installed with an up to date driver from the
internet search.

Although the system lists the card when it is plugged in, there is no
network activity showing on the card and no wireless networks can be found.
I cannot therefore connect to my wireless network which is a little
frustrating.

Is this incompatible software or is it the driver. Or is it my wireless
router causing a problem? (It is a 3Com Office connect router too, with the
latest firmware updates, running WEP security).

I have tried adding the network details manually but it will still not
connect. As the lights on the card are always on in XP and not on at all in
Vista I think it is likely to be a hardware or driver incompatibility.

Can anyone help?

Thanks if you can.

Hi

I had the same issue with same 3Com Wireless adapter last night. I worked
with the problem 2 hours and then I think let me try this: I used my desktop
PC where I make a image install with Nero and then burn an iso on a cd. And
then I start my notebook (packardbell m5) when windows find new device I
insert my cd with the drivers and JIPPI it worked. I am sure there is a
better solution, but it worked for me.

regards sra
