300GB HDD - Serious Errors

After installing XP, my 300GB SATA hard drive wont read above 127GB. I found
out that the XP Service Packs 1 & 2 must be installed, then you have to
extend the partition to read the full drive's size.

I did this, which worked, but now my PC constantly resets for no apparent
reason.

These are the errors Im getting:

*** STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC000001D, 0X8058042C, 0XB6EC6C90, 0X00000000)
and
*** STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC000001D, 0X8058042C, 0XB6765C90, 0X00000000)
and
*** STOP: 0X00000050 (0XFFB3B4E0, 0X00000000, 0X804EAF9F, 0X00000000)
and
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
*** STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC000001D, 0X8058042C, 0XB6E66C90, 0X00000000)

Which results in the "The system has recovered from a serious error" message
after reboot, which contains the following:

BCCODE: 1000008e BCP1: c000001d BCP2: 8058042c BCP3: B6EC6C90 BCP4: 00000000
OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product: 768_1

If you haven't installed anything else on the SATA drive I would slipstream
your original XP CD with SP2, create a new disk and reformat using the new
disk. This will allow the whole 300GB to be available to XP and that should
cure the problem assuming no hardware faults.
