3 questions about the Recovery Console

I would like to use the Recovery Console to backup my personal files if
one day Windows cannot start. I gave the Recovery Console full power
using some Windows option. But there are still 3 things I wonder are
possible:
1) The "COPY" command does not copies folder and does not accept
wildcards even if wildcards are enabled using the "SET" command. So how
can I copy the "my documents" folder (with its subfolders) from one
drive to another drive (in one single command)?
2) Can I use and external USB hard drive while in Recovery Console, to
backup my files on it?
3) Can I use a local network while in Recovery Console, to backup my
files on another computer?
Thanks for any tips,

The "Recovery Console" was not designed for backup use, it was
designed to get Windows back into a bootable state, whether it boot
normally or in "safe mode" is mute, as it at least can get Windows
back to the bootable state. So of course, it is very limited on
what it can doe and what is available for the commands - it may look
like DOS, but it ain't DOS. As far as questions 2 and 3, what did
it do when you tried it? Did it let you access and external USB
drive or use your LAN to access another computer?

Yes, I know, but it is very close to a "mini-DOS". It would be cool to
be able to use it to copy whole folders.

As for USB drive I was assuming it would not work, so I didn't try
before posting the question, my mistake. Now I try it and it works!!

As for the LAN, I don't know any command that would let me access this
other computer. I tried "DIR \\othercomputer\temp" but it didn't work.

But it is nice to be able to copy files onto the USB hard disk. Now the
only problem is the hassle to cpy the files one by one.
