3 Beeps after RAM install

Ryan

I recently purchased 128 megs of RAM to upgrade my PC
with. I had only 128 megs installed when purchased. I
made sure and bought the correct kind PC133. After I
installed it my PC would boot over and over again. Then
I reseeded the DIMM and turned it on again and now i get
3 beeps and nothing else. I took out the new RAM and
just tried booting with the old one and still nothing.
No picture, no booting, nada. Just 3 beeps. Can anyone
help??

This assumes you have no video when this happens...

Make sure that everything is seated properly, there is no
debris in the way, and no connections are loose
(including the video card and anything else in the
system).

If the original, formerly-working RAM does not allow the
machine to boot, without the new RAM even installed, then
try the old RAM in each slot. If it does not work in any
slot, it is possible either the RAM or the motherboard
fried. It may be best to have a computer hardware shop
take a look, usually they will have tools to diagnose
exactly what the problem is.

Beeps are errors within the computer hardware,or more
specifically warning codes. You'll need to go to the
BIOS mfg,or maybe,www.google.com,search,type:computer
warning beeps,or similiar.
I would guess that removing the cmos chip, and battery
with useing the old ram would clear it,leave the pieces
out for 5-10 minutes.
