2007 Spell Check Not Working

I am running XP SP3 and Office 2007 Enterprise SP1. Spell check is working
in all applications but Word.

1.) I do not have an override key in my registry as is suggested in other
posts.
2.) I have even renamed all instances of custom.dic to custom.old.
3.) I have unchecked select language automatically and English (U.S.) is
the checked language.

I would be grateful for any other suggestions!

SOLUTION (because I really don't like when it doesn't get posted). Here is
what finally worked for me. It seems that Office 2007 disables the english
dictionary becasue it causes problems with Outlook Express. To turn the
dictionary back on in word 200 goto:

Microsoft Office Button>
Word Options>
Add Ins>
Manage (select disabled items)>
Click on the english dictionary and re-enable it>
Close Word and restart.
My spell check now works fine.
