2003 rule doesn't recognize contacts

New computer made me have to do new installation. I was successful in
opening my outlook.pst that I copied from old computer. I see my mail
including all my folders, and I see my contacts. The rules didn't
transfer which I kinda understand. However, when trying to make new
rules, I'm running into a problem. I did a right click on a messsage in
my inbox from (e-mail address removed) and chose to make a rule. I make the
rule to move messages from (e-mail address removed) to a specific folder, and
then run it. But the messages don't move. When I go to edit the rule, I
get to a point that says "the address list cold not be displayed. The
contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened.
It may have been moved or deleted or you do not have permission." What
is going on?

if you click the to button in a new message, what do you see? if nothing:

If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when
you click on the To button, check these settings:

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book is checked?

If this is grayed out...

Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or
address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present? If it isn't listed, add
it and close and restart Outlook. If it is listed, then remove it and close
then restart Outlook and repeat these steps to add it.

Thank you so much, that did the trick, and as I suspected, getting the
address book problem solved also solved the rules problem.
