2003 questions my .bat files

Mark N.

There's no 2003 ng to which I can post this, so I'm sorry if it's considered
off-topic here :-(

I have a Win2k3 server on which I run a couple of batch files. With Win2k,
no problem. But with Win2k3, it pops up a dialog box warning me of the
perils of such files. I can still click through and run the file, but now I
need to automate this. I have an application that needs to launch the batch
file and it can't deal with the paranoid security - how can I kill this
dialog box?

Thanks!
Mark

I personally don't use Win2003 nor am I on a Microsoft system now.

Check the security policy. check the .pif for that .bat file (if
available). I would have no idea if there would be a control panel in
2003 in regards to scripting and/or batch files, etc.. might wanna
breifly check that.

On the other hand -- is there people who regularly use that 2003 machine
for workstation duties? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought 2003 is
only a server-class OS.

Good luck.

It is server-class. I have an antispam system (MailMarshal) that can
trigger external commands. I have Sophos AV interface loaded and need to
trigger a simple .bat to update when alerts are sent.

I'll check the policies and see what I can find.

Thanks,
Mark
