2003 - Close Button Unavailable

The big red X in the top right corner is ghosted out. If you click on it,
nothing happens. If you go to the Excel icon on the top left the close
option is unavailable. File, Exit is the only way to close Excel.

Any idea how to "re-activate" that button?

I suspect you have Groupwise installed. This is a long term issue. Search
on MS for Groupwise Excel

No Groupwise. We do have Acrobat and Hummingbird DM integrated. Any known
issues with those?

Yeah this is a known issue with Hummingbird DM, for some reason the macros
disable the red x in Excel, and only Excel for some reason... We have been
using Hummingbird now for about a year, and this is one of the many quirks
about it that we have had to get used to...
