2003 AD/DC w DHCP error 1054

I've made fresh install of my 2003 DC Server with AD and DHCP. The DNS has
been configured stepwise according to microsoft site instructions, so has the
DHCP. No matter how I set it up, and how I configure my NIC's, ti will always
reproduce this error. I've updated my server to SP1 RC1 and latest tries RC2.
I had one other error always showing up before I used the SP1 but it is now
gone. This error 1054 I just can't get rid off.

This server is completely alone. Just trying out different services on it,
if I ever get there.
For my testing purposes I do have one Windows 2000 client connected to one
NIC on the server and the second NIC on the server is connected to my router
which connects to the ISP.
If I don't disable my NIC to the router(ISP), I will recieve a perfered DNS
setting through my ISP, so I shut id down when installing DNS. I've tried
with and without disabling the NIC. The server NIC going to my own subnet
(home LAN) is set up for testing purposes with:
IP 10.0.0.2
Mask 255.0.0.0
Gateway 10.0.0.1
Pref DNS 127.0.0.1

My NIC going to the router has a dyn IP given by the rouer.
In the DNS management console I have 2 Host A records, both correctly(?)
pointing to 10.0.0.2 and to the correctly issued IP from my router (for
resolutions that 10.0.0.2 can't resolve). Seems right to me but I'm a noob at
this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I've looked around on the Inet for
weeks and all I get is this error 1054 showing when having clients connected
or the clients giving this error and therefore all the solutions are towards
the client.

So your clients must go through your server to get to the internet? If so,
I don't know why you have an address of 10.0.0.1 in your client's nic. I
will assume that you have your lan setup as follows:

CLIENTS===>SERVER NIC1>>SERVER>>SERVER NIC2===>ROUTER

Set Win2000 clients:

ip 10.0.0.2/8 (255.0.0.0)
gateway 10.0.0.2 (server ip)
dns 10.0.0.2

Set server as follows:

Router nic-
ip address - set static on same subnet as router with same subnet mask. ie
as follows:

if router ip 192.168.0.1/24 (255.255.255.0)

server ip: 192.168.0.2/24
server gateway: 192.168.0.1
dns (leave empty)

internal lan nic on server:

ip 10.0.0.2/8 (255.0.0.0)
gateway (leave empty)
dns 10.0.0.2

Open the dns console and set your server to forward to your isp's dns
servers.
