2002 PST file vs. 2003 PST file

I currently have Outlook 2002 on my desktop computer and Outlook 2003 on my
laptop computer. Right now I am using my desktop for e-mail almost
exclusively so when I sync the PST file to my laptop the Outlook 2003 reads
the 2002 PST with no problems. Am I correct in assuming that when I travel
and am using the laptop exclusively for receiving/sending mail then when I
get back home and try to synch from laptop to desktop that Outlook 2002 will
not be able to read any of the e-mails created in Outlook 2003. It appears
to me that I will have to upgrade my desktop to 2003 also for me to go back
and forth without problems. I do not utilize and Exchange Server.

Since Outlook 2003 can handle an Outlook 2002 PST just fine, as you've
already seen, make sure you synchronize using that format PST. It shouldn't
be much different from what you're currently doing.

Thanks for the info. My 2002 PST files are only running less than 500MG so
I don't see the real need to change them over to 2003 PST's until I approach
the 2 gig limit on 2002.

As long as you don't start using the Unicode format, you'll have no problem
transferring the PST between the Outlooks.
