We have two laptops running XP Home. I have connected them using a
crossover cable so we can share printers and files. The Properties for
Network Connections for each of the laptops is:
General Tab - Client For Microsoft Networks, Service Advertising
Protocol, File and Printer Sharing For Microsoft Networks and NetBEUI
Protocol
Authentication Tab - Checkmarked Enable network access control using
IEEE 802.1X and Checkmarked Authenticate as computer when computer
information is available
Advanced Tab - Checkmarked Protect my computer and network .....
I have used the Network wizard and named each Laptop "One" and "Two" and the
Network name as "Home".
My problem is that I cannot get Laptop Two to add Laptop One's printer named
"Okidata" or Laptop One to add Laptop Two's printer named "Epson". Any
ideas what I have done wrong? I get the message that it cannot find the
printer address.
