2 Internal Hard drives, both bootable?

I started doing multi track recording on my PC. In order to improve
performance, i was considering buying a second pc and having nothing
but windows and my 3 programs installed.

I don't really have the room for another desktop setup, and I was
exploring cheaper ways of doing this than buying a laptop. Right now I
have the idea of buying a tower and hooking it up to my
monitor/key/mouse each time I record, or a cheaper, easier idea that I
didn't know if it would even work. That would be to buy a second
internal hard drive, install windows and my programs on it, and boot
from that hard drive. Is this possible?
Would I just create a boot floppy so I could select the computer to
boot from that hard drive instead of the main hard drive?

Sorry for my ignorance. I have only opened a tower 2 times in my life,
to install a DVD burner drive and more RAM for recording.

thanks

You could consider a KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) switch. This way
only need to buy a tower and use the one keyboard, monitor, mouse
between each. Several KVM switch also offer the possibility of sharing
speakers between PC set-ups.
