11th Hour

Has anyone gotten 11th Hour to run on Windows 2000? I've found other
posts that were successful installing on XP and I've tried following
the same instructions (below). I was able to get it to run but as soon
as I start a puzzle it crashes. Any ideas?

Woooo Hooo!!!, I got it going! I checked around on Google and got to a
site
called www.tbyte.com/downloads/, where there was a beta version of a
program
that is zipped called 11hwin.zip. It works! You need to unzip it first.

Then, install the original version of the game, which will take place
automatically in a DOS window. Choose none for both MIDI and sound in
the
DOS menu. Follow the rest of the prompts out of the install. There's no
need
to use any compatibility modes or adjustments. Then, drop the newly
unzipped
v32win.exe and the DLL file into the 11h folder. Thats all you need to
do.
Click on the v32win.exe file and voila! You're in the game with full
screen
video, sound and MIDI music. No fuss no muss, it just works. Sure, the
walkabout sequences are extremely fast on today's machines but that's
no
real problem. All the puzzles work at their normal speed so it's not
hard to
play at all.
Thanks again for sending me in the right direction. I really don't know
why
I didn't search deeper for the solution. Mainly, there were no errors
and no
crashes back to desktop or any other type of crash. Yet another
successful
solution today. The first was getting all the latest Audigy 2 drivers
and
updates for apps to work with my Audigy 1. So, with my advanced Roland
Sound
Canvas MIDI module for music and my fast video, etc., as well as
superior
Audigy sound, man this game really rocks now!
