1 minute delay when logging on

I have 4 profiles that log on to my home editin of XP.
All accounts are delayed for 1 minute before the desktop
appears.

I created a new account called "test", it has the same
delay.

It's driving me crazy!

Hi

Have a look in msconfig>startup to see if there are any programs that you don't need/want starting up with Windows.

Hi

Does that make any difference, or have still got the problem? Something must be loading to account for the minute delay.

Do you have a LAN connection that is expecting to getting an IP address
by DHCP and is not doing so? That can result in such a delay, if there
is no immediate response (the time out while things wait is about a
minute)
