1 IP Address assigned to 2 names

Peter

I find that the administrator assign both name PERSONNEL
and HR to the same IP Address in the DNS Server. That
machine is a web server.

I would like to know why they assign 2 different name to
the same IP address.

Is there any comment to find out how many names are
assigned to a IP address ?

What problem is this causing you? Mapping multiple records to one IP is a
normal thing and shouldn't cause you a headache - under NORMAL
circumstances.

dnscmd your_DNS_server_Name /enumrecords your_IP_Subnet.in-addr.arpa
@>c:\reverse-zone.csv
OR
dnscmd your_DNS_server_Name /enumrecords your_Zone_Name
@>c:\forward-zone.csv

Those should give you lists of all your records and you can then then sort
them to see what you are looking for.
