0x800b0100 error when updating signatures

1) Please go to Windows Update, do an express scan, and apply all offered
updates.

If this error persists, can you attempt an update, and then cut and paste
the tail end of \windows\windowsupdate.log covering just the time of that
update attempt--to a message in this thread?

Sadly I am no longer getting the error because I reinstalled windows. However
If I get any more information I will post it here. Thanks!

That's one way to fix things! Updates within the program go via AutoUpdate,
so an error usually, but not always, indicates a problem that might affect
autoupdate as well.

Hi, I had the same problem and it was because I had powershell beta installed.
Removed it and updated perfectly.

Thanks--I've just installed that, partly in response to these messages, to
see what happens. So far, I get no error message, but no updates are
currently available.
