0x80040154 regsvr32.exe sample.dll

I'm receiving a regsvr32.exe error. I've researched and downloaded the fix
but it did not help. I searched my C drive and found 1 file regsvr and
another regsvr32, both are in windows\system32 folder. When I click the
regsvr, a DOS window opens. The other file gives me an error- No dll named
and info. I've reinstalled Outlook 2003 and created new email profile, but
nothing is working. Now what?

The MS page where I found the download file said that the info could be
manually entered at the prompt. Will that create the dll file that regsvr32
is looking for?

Thanks

HI Stralady
with regsvr32 you can register dll files. If you have a *.dll error you can
click start > run > regsvr32 \xy.dll
Can you post the whole error message you get?

Hi Andreas,

When I attempt to Send/Receive mail
1. Yahoo Mail: Receiving reported error 0x80040154: Unknown Error.

2 Hotmail: Folder Inbox Synchronizing headers" Reported error 0x80040154:
Internet mail is not registered properly. Please re-install and try again.

3. I ran the "regsvr32 xy.dll" Received error: Load Library (xy.dll)
failed- The specified module could not be found.

The first thing to try is 'Help|Detect and Repair'. I believe I found
the"fix" article you located and you would enter
"c:\winnt\system32\regsvr32 outlmime.dll" instead of
"c:\winnt\system32\regsvr32 xy.dll".

Hi Starlady,
sorry for that incorrect explain,
xy.dll standed for the *.dll you want to register. XY.DLL was a hypotetic
dll not a real one.
I only want to explain what regsvr32 do when you want to use it.

read this microsoft article

I read that article before writing for help. It did not help.

I ran both suggestions and received the following error messages.

1. regsvr32 *.dll --load library *.dll failed. Specific module could not be
found.
2. windows\system32\regsvr32 outlmime.dll -- load library (outlmime.dll)
failed. Specific module could not be found.

I tried running windows\system32\regsvr32 *.dll and received this error.
Cannot find the file windows\system32\regsvr32 *.dll (or one of its
components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all
required libraries are available.

I sure hope we can get to the bottom of this. Thanks
Starlady
