Hi,

My Dad has a Dell PC at home, it's Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, recently it has started displaying the following error messages.

Data Execution Prevention Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has been closed by windows.

Next whilst out browsing on the Internet, using a dial up connection he receives the following error message.

Instruction at 0x0120f496 at referenced memory at 0x0120f496 the memory could not be written. At this point the internet freezes & the only way of doing anything to the pc again is to power it off. Then power it on myself.

I have seen in some blogs where if he was using IE8 or Google Chrome he would be better not to use them, he has neither on his pc, its IE6 he is using.

I would be grateful for any other ideas or suggestions.

Thanks.
