Problems with Epson DX400 printer

My neighbour has a Epson DX4400 printer connected to his computer and
has worked OK. until he had the tower changed, now even though I have
un-installed and re-installed the printer several times, it will not
print text from the internet for example hotel bookings sudoko puzzles,
in fact nothing at all. When I scan something the colours are faded and
the black ink is not being used, have done all the obvious things like
check setting, made sure printer is online and it's the default
printer, read through epson instructions, but nothing tells me why it
does'nt print from the net. I feel this is two seperate problems one
being problems with the ink although they are epson cartridges and I
have cleaned heads and nozzles many time. Any advice would be
gratefully recieved Mnay thanks.

Epson cartridges are known to clog which renders them unusable. If your
neighbor did not print anything for a period of time (even as short as one
week) this is probably his problem.

The fact that it is printing faintly shows that it is indeed trying to work,
even though as you report, without much success. If it is still under
guarantee, Epson may be able to professionally clear the clogs, if it is out
of warranty, it's probably time to replace it.
