This is a very interesting and somewhat novel approach to note and list

"ZuluPad is still being developed, so their are a few features missing,"

"Also, since it's still in development, it's completely free."

Gotta say it's nice when the author warns you. :)

Oops, should have read further before I posted.

I downloaded this and was a bit disappointed. The internal links only
reference the *titles* of other documents, not the contents of the documents
themselves. It would have been much more helpful had the internal
hyperlinking been to *content* rather than just the title.

I tried this proggie too, but don't understand your comment. When you create
a "link" -- for example called "John
Smith" the program creates a separate page called "John Smith" into which
you type content, e.g. anything related to "John Smith". Everytime you type
the phrase "John Smith" on any page, it's converted to a link that leads to
the page "John Smith."

A look at the file produced shows that all the "pages" are simply separate
parts of an XML document.

It's a clever approach. Where it fails for me though:

i. You can adjust font size, but it only lasts for the session. The next
session it reverted to its very small default.

ii. No hyperlinking capability to external documents.

See if http://www.tiddlywiki.com/ meets your needs at all.

Hi Folks,

I am, in fact, the author of ZuluPad. Thanks for trying it out. I'm
glad the overall consensus seems to be pretty good ;-).

Yeah, that'll be fixed eventually. Sorry. I also plan to add multiple
fonts, bolding, italics, and underlining eventually. Not as easy as it
sounds, unfortunately...
ii. No hyperlinking capability to external documents.

Not entirely true. It will link to web pages, if you type in a link,
like "http://www.google.com", it will create an auto-link. If you click
that link, it will open that page up in your browser.

It would be impossible to tell *what* content of a page should be
linked...links are made to the title of a page. If I linked to every
word on every page, then there'd be tons of links to words like "it"
and "the" and stuff.

Not to worry, the free version will always be fully functional. There
are a few advanced features that I'd like to add that I plan on
eventually charging a bit for. One is to allow users to sync their
information to a central server, so that they can keep any number of
computers in sync. I wouldn't really call it "shareware" as much as I
would say there will be a freeware version, and a for-purchase version.
Then again, I might just keep it free with a donation option on the
website, since I don't really have the time to worry about selling
software...

Anyway, thanks for giving it a try, and I hope you all like it.

Please use an .ini file for storing preferences rather than storing
stuff in that registry monstrosity.
