Does anyone know of a conflict between ZA and EZarmour antivirus that causes
a big slowdown in connection speed?

I use both programs and do not have any noticeable problem with my
connection speed.

No problem here. I've used this combination on W95 (dial-up) and XP (dial-up
and broadband).

Sorry I can't comment on your query, but I thought it was interesting
because of my own issues in this regard. If I connect to my ISP portal
and do their speed test, I get results telling me I'm connected at
between 489 - 599kbps. If I remove Zone Alarm, it goes up to between
1.69 - 1.73mbps!

Am I missing something here, or is ZA really slowing down the machine
to this extent? I have seen references to its being resource hungry,
but this seems a tad OTT.

If ZA is the problem, what would people recommend - I'm considering
Outpost.

Cheers,

Just tried a connection with and without ZA and could not see any difference
in speed. I also have the EZ Antivirus running. I'm not sure where you are,
but many ISPs in the UK are doubling or trebling their connection speeds
(mine has just doubled). Could the
different speeds be something to do with your ISP? It's a bit of a longshot,
but worth checking.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just tried Outpost to see if it made a difference - it didn't. But then
I remembered TCPOptimizer, ran it, and the speed was back up to where
it should be.
