Zips appear as "folders"

I've not identified a specific patern yet, however
Explorer at time shows WinZip files in folders AND
as "subfolders" under the folder they're located. How
does one stop Explorer from showing Zip file as "folder"?

This question belongs in a WINDOWS newsgroup. And be sure
to specify which version of Windows you're using. (And no,
I don't know the answer, nor, apparently, does anyone else
in the WORD group)

Since the Windows NGs are organized by version, it will be vital to post in
a NG for the appropriate version of Windows.
