Hi,

I have a four quadrant chart and most of the graph is in the 2nd and
3rd quadrants. I would like excel to put the y axis numbers to the
right of the axis rather than the left (as it is now).

Is there any way to do this? I tried Label position as 'High' but it
simply moves it to the very end which I don't want

Thanks.

Ram,

Presumably, this is a scatter (xy) chart. You don't say where the Y axis is
now. You can put the Y axis labels at the left of the plot area, next to
the Y axis (at its left, wherever it happens to be on the x axis), or the
far right of the plot area.

You probably already know this, but to do that: Select the Y axis,
right-click it, Format axis, Patterns tab, and choose Tick Mark Labels:
High. This puts the Y labels at the far right of the chart, and probably
only makes sense if you have the Y axis at the far right too. Maximum
X-axis value (Format X axis - Scale - Value (y) axis crosses at: max x
value). But having it there probably doesn't make a lot of sense for a
4-quadrant graph. Alas.

Hi Earl,

Thanks. Yes, this is a scatter chart. Right now, the yaxis and x axi
meet at (0,0). My x axis is from -120 to 60. yaxis from -50 to 40.

Yes I was aware that I could put my Y to the far right. As you say
wouldn't really like to do that cos the idea of 4 quadrants is lost a
first look. Is there any other work around for this problem?

I fully agree that the only place where label position 'high' make
sense is when you have the y axis to the far right
