xpsp1,drivers,programs&files disappear from my pc.

drivers,programs&files keep disappearing from my pc. directx9.0b iscompletely
gone,my sb audigy2 zs platnum drivers also gone,iecont.dll&iecontlc.dll
gone&ie6 won't work properly,keep getting script errors online,ie completely
disappeared but returned after restarting my pc,not restore.i,ve had to
reactivate xp 2 times in the past mo.can anybody tell me why.i have a soyo
p4x400 mobo,2.53ghz.P4,1gb ddr400,geforceFX 5600XT w/current drivers,56k
modem due to 2 cable modems frying in 3mo.,built it myself& have,nt had many
problems till about 1mo. ago,iy has also restarted on it's own last 2wk's.
any suggestions on what i may have done wrong,i would like to stabilize it
once more

Jesus Christ! Something is up. Check for viruses, spyware, disk errors
yet? Any SMART errors from your hard drive?

And the cable modem frying can probably be stopped with a surge
suppressor that protects coaxial cable. Then again, if you really built
the cable modem yourself, then that's why. ;-)
