XPpro trying to connect to XPhome

I am trying to connect my laptop using XP pro to my small office network
using XP home. This network is hard wired. Through the router I am able to
connect to the internet using our DSL modem. I cannot connect to the office
network. I have turned off both my windows firewall and Norton firewall.
Does anybody have any other ideas?

I'm not totally understanding your description of your network, but let's work
around that.

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, Norton firewall "turned off" or not. There are
other possibilities too. Read this article with an open mind.

Next, we'll take a look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from the
laptop, and from 2 computers on the network that have no problem, so we can
