XPE boot-up delays if no PS/2 KB nor mouse

Dear all,

I am seeing my XPE system's boot-up process takes longer
time (about a minute) if no PS/2 keyboard nor mouse is plugged.

The system is for a kiosk terminal and it usually doesn't need
a keyboard nor a mouse other than in a mentenance case.
(So i still needs PS/2 keyboard and mouse drivers in the system)

I want to shorten the boot up time.
Does anyone here know a solution for this?

Thanks

matsumoto

For keyboard try:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8024prt\Parameters
Headless RED_DWORD 0x00000001

I saw this info using the google.

You must have the shown entry, if you'd plug in a keyboard to a *running*
system (booted without keyboard). For the mouse support I don't know any
entry.
It is correct, the boottime is longer having no keyboard and no mouse. But
not 1 minute! (approx 5 sec...)
On which step your system is waiting? (boot phase, logon, start of shell, an
application waiting on a specific service - what kind of shell do you have?)
