Unless you see "64 bit" in that window, you have the 32 bit
version.

Hi Peter,

If you have to ask, you're using 32 bit. Start/run winver, if you are using
64 bit, this will tell you so. The 64 bit version only runs on *very*
expensive hardware.

Ok, try this:

From a command prompt type "systeminfo" - without the quotes. Have a look for 'System Type:' - X86 = 32-bit.

Take your computer outside. Place in on the ground and hit it with a
sledgehammer twenty times. Count the number of "bits" it breaks into;
that will tell you what "bit" version of XP you have.
