How do I obtain XP home XP2 update in Australia.

Not the Beta version which I have and seems to work OK.

From reading your post you guys seem to have it already.

John

See DMG's post

As well, it's called Windows XP *SP2* - for Service Pack 2, not XP2
There's just one teensy problem with that - it doesn't show up on
WindowsUpdate yet!

Cheers,

Cliff

web site if you like. 277 megs at:

Where does everyone get all these different sizes from? It's *266MB* !

Sorry but wrong. 277megs.

Actually, if you want to be exact, it is 278,927,592K long.

Did you even read what was being discussed?

Yes I did. To quote the rubbish YOU wrote once more:

Ergo, you were talking rubbish.
I know that it's on MS's site, I got it the first day it was released.

We were talking about the availability on Windows Update.

.....and there it is!

That's funny, mine is *266* MB! No more, no less. AND I got it form
Microsoft.

"it is 278,927,592K long". K??? That makes it nearly 300 GIGAbytes! How
long did THAT take to download? ;-)

For mine the File Properties say "266M (278,927,592 bytes)". Remember that
1M is not 1,000,000, it is 2*20, i.e. 1,048,576.

Ooops: 1M is 2**20, not 2*20.

Sigh..... OK the "b" was missed. I guess you know what I meant however.

That's right so it is almost 273megs long. I was wrong saying 277 but I was
slightly closer! :)

And this link, on MS,
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

shows a size of 272391KB which is *266* MB so I don't know where the hell
you're getting 277 MB from, it sure ain't on the MS site.

Unsure why you went to the wrong link but I got mine from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...be-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a&DisplayLang=en

and I was correct. It is 278,927,592Kb long which is actually 273megs long,
not 277 as I said before.

Unsure WHY you went to the wrong spot but that link I posted is where
everyone is getting it from.

Umm, it isn't that long, as according to the long number you give, that would be 273GBs: remove the "Kb" at the end, and you'd be correct.
