I installed xp some time ago. I have not been able to
print on my compaq c31000. xp says it is compatible and I
have contacted them with the problem. They had me install
an upgrade which didn't work.
In addition, I am not able to uninstall.....anything!
I've tried to uninstall three different programs in
addition to the printer and will not complete.
Also cannot set up a defrag or disk cleanup schedule.
Would appreciate any info.

And you've tried safe mode?Turn off your box,then pump

the F5 key repeatedly as the computer starts up,then the
screen pops up,select safe mode.Go to add/remove programs
(start>>>control panel>>>add/remove>>>select the ones you
wan't to remove)and remove them.Then reboot into normal
mode.Sounds like you have spyware www.download.com in
the search box type AD AWARE get it,open it up,check
for updates,then run it,delete everything that comes up.
