Hi there... thanks for your time

I have used WIN XP before in my computer, Unfortunately there were driver
conflict issues that made me resort back to W98. Now I am looking to
install.. either clean install.. or upgrade to XP! The problem is that it
will not install. I have only got 32MB ram, but have had it on here before..
My room-mate has it on his as well and I checked .. 32 MB ram as well.. Any
idea how to install it?.. I am positive I have done this before but not
remembering how. I thought it was quick and easy though.. I do not remember
issues like this occuring prior

thanks for your time!

Windows XP will not run on 32 MB of ram. The minimum required ram is 63MB
with the recommended being 128MB

Unfortunately, your hardware is inadequate to install and run
Windows XP properly. I suggest you stay with Windows 98.
Even if you could install Windows XP on your computer, it
would perform agonizing slow and be of little usefulness.

Although those are Microsoft's numbers, from a practical
standpoint, even 128MB isn't enough for decent performance. How
much RAM you need depends on what apps you run, but almost
everyone running a range of common business applications needs
somewhere between 256 and 512MB. Some people, for example those
editing large photographic images, can make very good use of
more--even much more.
