Two days ago, I was getting the UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME error. I followed the Microsoft fix instructions. I no longer get that message, however, I now get the following

"STOP: C0000135 (unable to locate component

This application has failed to start because KERNEL32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be fixed

Thanks

The stop message indicates you are missing a system file. Go to run and type
sfc /scannow , (note space between c and /) . Insert XP cd when prompted.
