xp won't boot

When I bootup all I get is a blank screen. I couldn't
boot from the cd so I downloaded the 6 start up disk.
Now I get the following message The following value in
the .SIF file used by Setup is corrupted or missing:
Value 0 on the line is section [Source Disk Files] with
Key "SP1.cab" Setup cannot continue. I get this message
if try too repair or install from the cd. could someone
help with this message.

Hi,

Clean the CD and the CD drive. Your system is having trouble reading the
disk. Wipe the disk with a soft lint-free cloth, be careful not to induce
any scratches. Run a CD lens cleaner disk in the drive, any commercial one
will do.
