My buddy is having a problem with his new computer.
Everytime you shut it off you have to have the xp cd in.
Then it goes into setup everytime. We loaded xp and it is
on the computer, after you exit the setup it reboots
directly into windows. Help me out here, we are stumped.

Thanks.

Judging from what I read here you have to go into BIOS and set the boot
options to boot from the hard drive.

Once it has done the initial reboot to the hard disk during setup,
change the boot order in BIOS to boot the HD first (and preferably leave
the CD out of things). Then if the CD drive needs a CD in it to be
noticed (which very occasionally may happen) then you will not be
booting to it

Have the same problem as above!
Anybody knows how to get into the bios on a Gateway?
Or please advice me as to make a cd-rom as a emergency startup disk!
Please!
Thanks in Advance!

Access BIOS on Gateway-press F2 at startup.
