I was on another news group for ME but was unaware that XP
Home will not upgrade Me. Just a clean install. I tried to
install XP Home but it said XP does not support upgrade
ME. My original question was How can I delete ME/ The
add/remove program turns black when i try to delete ME
from there.

How do you uninstall Me if you can't uninstall from
add/remove program. If I clean sweep won't it clean
outlook express? I would like to keep my e-mail. When I
reformat outlook express starts over blank

A "Retail Version" of Windows XP Home Edition will indeed
upgrade over an existing Windows ME installation. However,
an "OEM Version" of Windows XP cannot upgrade, it must be
installed on a freshly reformatted drive or partition.

Clean Install Windows XP (same procedure for Windows 2000)

Jim;
If you have OEM, upgrade is not an option and a Clean Install is the
only option.
This may help with your data:
