How do I know if I have XP 32 bit edition or XP 64 bit
edition? I need to download the patch and there are two
to choose from. When I view system info, it just
indicates XP Home Edition, Version 2002.
Thanks!

I think you have a 32 bit CPU, isnt'it? If you have an Intel Itanium 2 than it's a 64bit cpu.
Yes, you have to remove the virus and then apply the patch.
The virus will try to infect your computer again.
Turn on also your firewall.

PLEASE READ THE PREVIOS POSTS IM NOT SAYING ALL OF THEM
BUT ATLEAST THREE PAGES.

You have the 32 bit version

Want more detail?
- HOME is 32-bit only.
- PRO can be 32 or 64 bit, but the 64 bit can only run on
SPECIAL hardware.
- The 64 bit version of PRO says "64 bit edition."
- You would have paid much more for 64 bit XP.
- You cannot pick up 64 bit in ANY store.
- 64 bit does not run on Pentium-Anything
- 64 bit does not run on Athlon-anything.
- 64 bit does not run on Celeron-anything
- 64 bit does not run on Duron-anything
- 64 bit does not run on Palm
- 64 bit does not run on 486.
- 64 bit does not run on Macintosh.
- 64 bit does not run on Commodore 64.
- 64 bit does not run on whatever Via's former Cyrex chip
is called this
week.
- 64 bit does not run on HP Pavilions
- 64 bit does not run on Sony Vaios
- 64 bit does not run on Gateway home computers.
- 64 bit does not run on Alienware.
- 64 bit does not run on Falcon Northwest.
- 64 bit does not run on Compaq Presarios
- 64 bit does not run on any system you can buy at Wal-
Mart, Best Buy, Fred
Meyer, CompUSA, or any other computer superstore,
retailer, or shopping
club.
- 64 bit COSTS ENOUGH AND MAKES YOU GO THROUGH ENOUGH TO
GET IT THAT YOU
FRIGGIN' KNOW IF YOU HAVE IT!

Since you made it this far and had to read that:

Ding, ding, ding, ding. You have won the grand prize.
You have probably been the hundredth person to ask that
this week.

Your prize consists of you being stupid and lazy because
you
will not scrolldown to see that this question has already
been
answered in short. Also you are going to be crowned mr.
or
mrs. lazy of the week.

----
on a lighter note I know that i am not paid for this but
c'mon
All it takes is a little common sense to see if your
question has
been asked before. Now really, how hard is it to scroll
down the
page, its not that hard. If i wanted to listen to
repeated things
I'd be in school actually listening to the teacher

--But heck what do I know I'm just 15--

Did you ever find out the answer to your question? I
have the same one.

Assume 32 bit Bob. That is unless you are running XP Pro with an Itanium
processor in which case you would know if it was 64 bit.
