When I installed .NET Framework v.1.1.4322, it set up a limited user's
account, ASP.NET Machine A.... Having always been simply "owner" I have
never fooled with user's accounts and have a few questions re: some changes
that accompanied the account.
If possible I would like brief answers to these questions:
Why does .NET Framework need its own account?
It says "Password protected". What password and who has it? What is that
about?
Finally, it used to boot straight into Welcome, then run the startup
programs so it was ready to use. Now, it boots to "User's Accounts" and I
have to choose "owner" before it opens Windows to begin the startup
procedures. This is an inconvenience and I would like to change it back to
boot straight to the Welcome, then go on to open the startup programs. Is
this possible?
A comment, slight rant: It would be helpful if MS would put one of those ?
symbols along with brief explanations about what to expect when .NET types
of major installations make major changes so the user could choose to get
brief explanations and know what to expect.
In my case, I installed the .NET Framwork along with a program that
required it, totally unaware of any changes to my accounts because I was
focused on the primary Application I needed, not its engine. They spring
extra work on you without any preparation.
Thanks in advance.
