When I deleted a user account, Windows XP now no longer
loads normally. The welcome screen with the
message "windows xp is starting up" appears and just
stays there.

This user account existed originally on win2000 pro. I
then upgraded to win xp. Since this particular user
would not be using this computer anymore, I deleted the
account.

The next time xp booted, a screen appeared stating, "John
Doe's user account information no longer exists" or
something to that effect. I hit "ok" and it started up
just fine.

The next time xp booted, the same screen appeared for a
split second and then it flashed forward to a light blue
screen with the message, "windows xp is starting up" and
just stays there.

If I am quick enough and hit the enter key very quickly,
I can hit the OK button in time and then xp starts up
just fine. I should not have to do this though. What is
the fix for this? I've tried reinstalling xp again with
no success in solving this problem. Please help. Thank
you.
